latest Noah Baumbach directed movie
Margot at the Wedding. Pauline, played
by Jennifer Jason Leigh, and Malcolm,
played by Jack Black, are about to
get married. Breaking from the traditional
engagement period during which the
bride-to-be wears a diamond engagement
ring on her finger, Jack and Jennifer’s
characters display their commitment
to one another by wearing wedding
bands as necklaces strung on leather
cord. She wears his band around her

Chicago is Now Open!
Me&Ro
opened its fourth retail location
at 61 East Oak Street in Chicago in
November 2007. Designer Robin Renzi
decided to add to the three existing
retail locations in New York, Los
Angeles and Miami due to the overwhelming
success and demand for the jewelry.
"Chicago has always been a great city
for us. The first store we sold to
15 years ago was on Oak Street which
is where we’re opening our doors.
It is a beautiful block that has become
renowned for its high-end shopping
and has specifically, in recent years,
become a destination for luxury jewelry
retailers. It places us among wonderful
company." said Renzi. The Chicago
outpost carries many limited edition
and one-of-a kind pieces including
extraordinary multi-color sapphire
and tourmaline stones in addition
to our collection of silver, 10K,
18K gold and platinum jewelry.

created a one-of-a-kind collection
using the finest white opals hand
selected while traveling in the Northeastern
state of Bahia in Brazil. Set in 18K
yellow gold, the luminescent beauty
of these unique precious gems is highlighted
in classic designs which include rings,
earrings, pendants and chains. The
opals high quality, not readily available
on the US market, is reflected in
flame and flash play-of-color; a phenomenon
in the world of gemstones. They exceptionally
display strong sweeping flames of
golden orange and red, confetti flashes
of bright green, and sprinkles of
purple and blue. All cabochon cut,
some of the styles include stones
that retain their natural shape and
others that range from teardrop, to

Designer Robin Renzi traveled
to India to find these beautiful rare
natural diamonds. Flat Diamonds are
not available on the U.S. market…Robin
has been looking for these diamonds
for years! Their large table facet
reflects light very sharply and maximizes
the diamond’s luster. These untreated
and natural diamonds have eye-visible
inclusions such as feathers and cleavages
which are often thought to be flaws
in brilliant cut diamonds. We at Me&Ro
find these imperfections beautiful
and appreciate the individual characteristics
as nature intended. Inspired from
old traditional Indian jewelry, the
diamonds have been set in 18K gold
in their natural shape on chains,
earrings, rings and a floral pendant.

Me&Ro Designs Hair Ornaments for Memoirs of a Geisha
Me&Ro
created stunning one-of-a-kind hair
ornaments for the Memoirs of a
Geisha film. Working closely with
2003 and 2006 Oscar winning Costume
Designer, Colleen Atwood, Me&Ro
designer Robin Renzi took inspiration
from the story based on Arthur Golden's
novel to bring these unique, delicate
pieces to life. Five styles, primarily
in sterling silver with some gold
detail and coral, garnet or pearl
beading, function as embellished hair
decorations in various flower forms.
The 'flower bouquet' in silver with
gold and coral adorns the head of
actress, Eugenia Yuan, who plays 'Korin,'
in an early scene in the film. The
all silver 'chrysanthemum' was donated
to the Morikami Museum and Japanese
Gardens in Delray Beach Florida for
their "Memoirs of the 'Memoirs'" exhibit.
