Shell Charms and Pearl on Chain

These shells were picked on a blue beach, in Kennebunkport in northern Maine, full of stones and broken shells. The deep blue sky of Maine, at night reflects off these blue beaches, blue on blue. Imagine wandering the beach at midnight, under the northern sky, moonlight illuminating the sea, and stars accenting the sky, mirroring the shells at your feet. They’re both in reach, the stars and the shells, the Magic of Nature. It’s these places that ignite inspiration, and drive us to create these one of a kind shell necklaces.

Two purple clam shells banded with dark blues have been set through the process of Electroforming, one measures 7/16 x ½ , and the other, measuring ½ x ½  has a weathered area that reveals revealing a stunning pearlescent. Each accompanied by a ½ x ¼ Coquina shell, tiny and yellow with a soft blue spot at the hinge. The fifth charm is a tiny clam shell, measuring 3/8 x 3/8”has crisp visible ridges of umber, and its underside, like a porcelain teacup is exposed, giving the edge of the shell a silver lining. Shimmering like a droplet of liquid metal, hangs a 3/8” x 1/4” Keshi Pearl, a blue grey treasure. Lastly, an iconic silver Leaf measuring ¾” x ¼” hangs with the rest on a fine recycled sterling silver 18” chain with a lobster closure.
