Inspired by the beauty of the natural world, Designer Robin Renzi has created a collection of some of her most favorite shells that she has found from beaches as close as Long Island and as far away as India. One side is covered in 99.9% fine silver through the unique technique of electroforming while the other exposes the natural beauty of each shell.
This shell pendant is mysterious. Its figural shape and rosy color make it familiar and foreign all at once. Measuring 1 3/8 x 7/8 this irregular fragment shows us what lies at the heart of the great Conch Shell. Sacred in many cultures, symbolizing feminine aspects, the conch was the original horn trumpet, used in ritual assemblies and proclaiming battle. This piece of the shell, concaved with fluttering edges, is the voice box of The Conch. Coated in fine silver and finely engraved, this shell pendant hangs on an 18” chain made of recycled sterling silver.
