Inspired by the beauty of the natural world, Designer Robin Renzi has created a collection of some of her most favorite shells that she has found from beaches as close as Long Island and as far away as India. One side is covered in 99.9% fine silver through the unique technique of electroforming while the other exposes the natural beauty of each shell.
A vibrant Zig Zag Scallop shell was tossed by the sea, and only this fragment remains. Incredibly flat, its radial calico design alternates between deep salmon, orange, brick pink and white. Measuring 1 ¾” x 1 ¼” this shell has a fascinating irregular shape, like an abstract figure, a sculpture from antiquity. Its back side is coated with fine silver, through the process of Electroforming, creating a silver lining around the shell. A natural perforation along its silver back side edge, makes it even more sculptural and asymmetrical. Its beauty is all in the details. The Zig Zag Shell hang on a fine recycled sterling silver 18” chain with a lobster closure.
